Interregional cooperation in the field of infrastructure constitutes an effective vision for creating a cooperative path between the three regions of the Sahara. The colonial trans-Saharan line, as a historical approach, gives economic and security importance to the extension of networks of relations across the Sahara and supports desert development efforts. Infrastructure projects include:
1- Sheikh Amoud International Airport in Tamanrasset:

According to international standards, it is a transit station for every traveler from the three or so regions, and an international transit station between Asia, Latin America, South Africa, and Europe. It facilitates the implementation and development of projects, especially in the health field (international medical missions).
2- The railway project:

It requires relying on the railway to connect the three regions by constructing a central station in Tamanrasset called the Bir al-
Gharamah station, in commemoration of the Battle of Bir al-Gharamah in 1881, in which Paul Flatters, the owner of the French railway project le transaharien, was eliminated. The station supervises the organization of the following directions. :

  • The Bashar-Tindouf-Nouadhibou line: It extends over a distance of 800 km from Tindouf after completing the Bashar-Tindouf line and reaches the point of the Zouerate mine to be linked to the mine railway until the port of Nouadhibou and will be an accompaniment to the road paving project in order to achieve Algeria’s control over trade relations with West Africa and to annex Mauritania and Senegal definitively follow the political line of Algeria, while employing the religious dimension of Dakar-Laghouat.
  • Tamanrasset-Kinshasa line: The line runs from Tamanrasset towards Zinder, Nigeria, N’Djamena, Bangui, Kinshasa, and Congo takes over the half between N’Djamena and Kinshasa.
  • Tamanrasset-Bamako-Conakry line: via Bordj Badji Mokhtar, intending to pass through northern Mali to revitalize the region suffering from constant conflicts, then from Bamako to Conakry via the Niger River to the point of Kankan via river navigation and Guinea’s implementation of the Kankan-Conakry project, allowing the line to be completed from Conakry port to Tamanrasset.

3- River navigation:

The rivers spread in the region, such as the Senegal River, the Niger River, and the Congo River, provide logistical capabilities that enable reducing the cost related to transportation via railways by linking railway projects with river navigation. They also help support agriculture on the banks of the rivers, and the literature on regional integration in West Africa appears. There is interest in these projects on the part of the integration mechanisms CEDAW and CEAC with the aim of strengthening the regional infrastructure.
